The Colorado Wild Fires have hit all around our area, and being in the insurance business, it affects not only me, but many of my clients and family.  The agents in our District Office were asked to help file claims and do whatever else was necessary at the Black Forest Fires in Colorado Springs, so we all volunteered.  I was stationed inside with a few other people and just waited to see if anyone needed our assistance.  We had a table that was labeled, 'Farmers Insurance' and I had a man and a woman approach us.  They looked completely lost and frazzled, and I asked what I could do to help.   The man mentioned that he didn't know what to do.  He lost everything.....his house, his cars and all of his possessions.  He said he was told to leave his home immediately by the firefighters, so he jumped in his car and took off.  But this was the first opportunity for him to sink in what had happened, and was having second thoughts about what happened, and he wished he would have grabbed more of his things.  He was kicking himself for not grabbing his motorcycle.  This was clearly his prized possession and he looked devastated that he didn't grab it.  I told him that the important thing was, he was safe and out of danger, and that he would be able to get another one.  He had a great policy with us, so we would do whatever we could to replace anything he lost, but couldn't do anything if he were taken with the fire.  He mentioned God and didn't know why God had chosen his house to go, but said he realized that it would be apparent to him soon.  Such amazing tenacity this many had after losing so much.....
